Glacier National ParkThis is an amazing place with over a million acres of mountains, forests, lakes, streams and glaciers - some of the most beautiful and spectacular mountain scenery in the United States. A combination diverse flora and fauna, and relative isolation have combined to make Glacier the center of one of the largest (mostly) intact ecosystems in North America. The park area was once part of the homeland of the Blackfoot and Kootenai tribes. Today the park is traversed from east to west by Going-to-the-Sun Road. Bisecting the heart of Glacier, this 50 mile long road follows the shores of the park's two largest lakes and hugs the cliffside as you make the climb to cross the Continental Divide at Logan Pass.
