Autumn in New York

Autumn always makes me homesick, with the great fall colors in New York and New England. This year I had a chance to visit Rochester in October, and spend time with friends I don't get a chance to see very often.

Letchworth Park is billed as "the Grand Canyon of the East". Despite the lofty comparison, it is a beautiful park, with the Genesee River gorge and three waterfalls.

The park was covered in leaves, which at least Kyle got to enjoy!
Barb, Paula and I went kayaking in a park in Victor. The weather cooperated for a picture perfect day, and it wasn't as difficult as I thought...at least the paddling part isn't. Getting out of the kayak, however, is a bit more challenging. :-)

It was a fun day, and I can't wait to try it again. The property we bought in Port Townsend is just across the street from Discovery Bay, and Bob and I will be trying out different models come summer.
